No Comments=No one reads my blog=what's the point in blogging?
However, I do know people read my blog because every once in a while when I share a piece of information with someone they reply with "Oh yeah, I read it on your blog." Reassurance? I suppose so. So today I put in my note regarding my "Leave of Absence" from Shoplace Cinemas East. That's right my friends, after this weekend there will be no more free movies! Quite depressing indeed, but now I will actually get to enjoy my last semester of high school and actually hang out with people from school! My manager asked me how long of a leave I was taking and I replied with "indefinite." But by indefinite I might have meant forever...??? We'll see what happens. Maybe I'll miss the PEOPLE of showplace so much I'll have to go back...or maybe just leaving smelling like popcorn...ok, most likely not the latter.
Right now I'm asking myself why I'm still awake! The second, going on the third day of school in 2005 and I have already begun the awful habit of staying up late with no purpose. I am proud that I did my homework by 8, watched Project Runway (don't make fun), then continued to work on my anthology which is due in 4 months, but for some reason I'm still awake and I don't know what I've been doing for the past few hours. I need to read The Sound and the Fury in the next 2 or 3 weeks and although I want to say I'm feeling overwhelmed and overloaded with homework and activities, I'm not at all. I'm actually quite on top of things...oh wait, it's only the 2nd day of school, silly me! The procrastination will set in, it'll just take a few more days...or maybe just tomorrow.
So I just read someone's blog (who will remain nameless) and I just realized how much I don't know them at all anymore! But then again, I wonder if I ever really knew them at all. It's just weird when you stop to reflect upon a past relationship and question whether you were really as close of friends as you thought you were.
It's been raining, and will continue to rain, for days. Is Evansville under a flash flood warning? My little blinking "Weather Bug" tells me we are. THANK GOD I'm not driving right now! hah! (Why did I think that was so funny?)
I'm ready to do a play or try out for something! I'm getting bored! Look at me, saying I'm getting bored yet I'm taking a leave of absence from work because I'm...too busy?? Look at me, just one big contradiction.
Ryan, I hope you're having fun on the slopes...we're thinking of you! (or at least I am) Wait, are you even skiing?

This was the worst Christmas ever. Not that the holiday was particularly bad, it was just awful compared to my expectations and traditions in which I have participated in since birth! First of all, Christmas Eve/Day were preceeded by two days of being trapped in the house by the 2 feet of snow which covered my driveway. Granted, I did dig my way out after two hours of hard labor, but I only went to Target for an hour with Robin and then it was back to confinement. You would think that since my parents and I all three had different church services to go to, that at least ONE of them would still occur. But indeed, all three were cancelled, so I sat at home and felt sacriligious on Christmas Eve. Also, we did not get to do anything with extended family PLUS my brother couldn't come home. Overall, I guess it was just different this year...
I did enjoy my presents. However, one in particular did a number on my face. So I've been longing for an electric razor because I'm thinking "ooo, no shaving cream, extra smooth face, and quite convenient." My expectations were far from the reality as the 3 circular blades ripped the hair out of my face leaving my nice smooth skin covered in tiny razor bumps. It says that it is supposed to take 3 weeks for your face to adjust to the new razor...but I for one do NOT want to take that chance!
So it's been decided. . .I'm going to DePauw for sure.

Jon was just talking about going to Italy in March and i'm really jealous! Italy is on my list of top 10 places I want to go...not that I have a list or anything...but it would be!!! Hopefully I'll get to study abroad in Italy and take Italian in college.
TURNABOUT '04!!!
What an awesome night! How could it have been better?? We had a lovely evening at the Pogue Haus (haha) and the steak and twiced baked potatoes were to die for! Then the dance was just great, even though we had trouble finding someone for a group picture :(. But we're popular by association, right Elyse? Right, because our dates, Caroline and Mitch, one best actress and best actor (it was a hollywood theme, guys, just go with it). Not too mention Parker won best supporting actor! See, my friends are well liked therefore I am!! haha!
The BEST moment of the night...ok, maybe not the best, but at the time when I was delirious with sleep deprevation, it was HILARIOUS:
Me: Elyse, are you done with that mountain dew? I need somewhere to put my gum. . .
Elyse: Oh, let me finish it off...ok!
An HOUR later. . .
Elyse: Why does this mountain dew taste minty??
Me: Ohhh, that's the one you let me put my gum in!!
Ok, maybe you had to be there. . .

So there I was...driving along down Oak Hill road, SO excited to be back home and singing Avenue Q to my hearts content. . .and then I see the lights! That's right, I got pulled over for going 60 in a 45...doh! But it's all good because I didn't get a ticket...but STILL...it was scary none the less, at least I won them over with my charm, hah! Riiiight, or maybe because they knew I wanted to pee my pants at the thought of having to pay for a ticket!

Ahh...last night in Florida. Don't fret, i'll be leaving in T minus 6 hours! So expect me home around 8 or so, because we'll probably make a million stops on the way back!
The computer I'm using right now has an AB-Doer as the chair, so I can't help but work out as I sit here...yes, I can multi-task!

Ok, so it's not really necessary for me to post my college information on here and I've realized that no one really cares. I guess it was just a sorry attempt to update. Anyhow, I've had a dandy week so far because I got to see Robin and Melissa and it's THANKSGIVING! Ok, so nothing too spectacular has happened today, but you know what? I'm in FLORIDA, and that's really all that matters. Actually, it's really not all that warm...warmer than home, yes, but it's still kinda cool...jeans and a short sleeve shirt kind of weather. But I've only been outside once all day and it's almost 6 here and all I did was walk down the street with Jessica to this subdivision that's being built and peeked into a big house. However, we were careful the whole time because we had to walk past this lake that has a 6 foot alligator...and i'm not sure how fast they run, but I didn't really want to have to find out. I do know it's there though, because i've seen it, I just don't want to have to get too up close and personal.
Gosh, holiday traffic was AWFUL! It took us 4 hours to make it 50 miles yesterday...no joke! It took about 16 hours to get here, and it's like a 10 hour trip! Oh well, I had plenty of movies to keep me company such as Elf, Jingle all the Way, and I'll be Home for Christmas (gotta love JTT...hah!). Between the movies and sleep, the trip wasn't so bad. It's kind of crazy how so many radio stations have started playing christmas music already...not that it doesn't happen every year, but still...
As great as Florida is, I'm still kind of sad I didn't get to see everyone (Ryan, Rachel, Emily, etc.) I hope you all are having a joyous time without me..:::sobbing::::

College...goodness...well, here's how it looks so far:
DePauw: Accepted, 15,000 dollar merit scholarship, it's looking pretty good! Still waiting to find out about the Media Fellows Program...
Butler: So I didn't think I would find out about Butler yet, but I got a call yesterday from my admissions councilor and she said they decided to go ahead and accept me and give me some early financial aid info! So don't have any money yet, but it's very possible! Still have an interview for Media Arts Program...
Ball State: Accepted to Honors College, half tuition scholarship (only like $2,750), still need to audition for Musical Theatre Program...
Wabash College: pending
UE: pending
Northwestern: pending...until APRIL!!
So the IMAX opens in a week...which means I'll be working there...how exciting...

So I was just listening to the Garden State soundtrack and it just made me think "How wonderful is this CD, and how wonderful was that movie?!" This weekend was...well, not so much fun, and more or less depressing. I did get to enjoy Sarah's Halloween party for a little bit...but I definitely came to a horrible realization that was quite a downer as I sat alone on Friday night with no one to turn to. Oh well, who needs friends, right? Obviously not I!
So I was at Central Library today...which is beautiful might I add...and I was thinking, "I'm so happy I grew up in Evansville." And I really am, it's a great place to live. True, it might not be the most exciting place to live, but at least it's safe, I've had some great opportunities, I've been well-educated, etc. And now, I can happily leave Evansville and go somewhere much more exciting! Hah! But I wouldn't ask to have been raised anywhere else...
So there's a part in Mean Girls when her mom says "But you love Lady Smith Black Mambazo!" As funny as that moment was in the movie, it was oh so much more funny as I perused the DVDs at the library and saw a DVD of Lady Smith Black Mambazo, a jolly group of about 10 African men. Okay, so it's not that funny now, but maybe you should see the DVD!
NOVEMBER IS GOING TO BE HELL! I have so many projects to work on, I'm going to be missing so much school, I'm going to EXPLODE! Oh well, it's the last November of high school, right? so why not just get through it...
COME SEE INTO THE WOODS THIS THURSDAY, FRIDAY, AND SATURDAY (NOV. 4, 5, 6)@ 7:30 AT CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL'S BRAND NEW AUDITORIUM!!!
